Clean Planet Program

A smaller ecological footprint is to everyone's advantage - and you can count on Konica Minolta to lead the way in making toner cartridge and consumable recycling simple and cost-free. Whether you have a single Konica Minolta desktop printer, an entire fleet of bizhub MFPs, bizhub PRO or bizhub PRESS production print equipment, you'll be able to recycle toner cartridges and consumables - including waste toner boxes, imaging units, developer or developer units and drums - in a simple way.

For our small and home office customers. Single consumable items can be recycled by printing a postage paid UPS label here. Simply apply it to the new box containing the used consumable item and ship via UPS.

For our mid-sized customers. A recycling box designed to hold 10 - 15 items (consumables only, not shipping materials) can be ordered here. Just assemble the box and the reusable lid and place it in your office. When the box is full, you can print out a UPS label from this site, apply it to the box and ship via UPS. Please note: only Konica Minolta Clean Planet boxes can be accepted.

For high-volume customers. Konica Minolta can arrange for the delivery and pickup of recycling pallets that hold a larger quantity of consumable items (not shipping materials). Please contact Central Business Systems at 716-803-9000 for details.

For customers who recycle a large volume of Konica Minolta consumables, on an ongoing basis, you may want to consider a pallet sized box to be installed at your location. Please contact your Konica Minolta sales representative for more details regarding this service.

Please recycle efficiently. Since Konica Minolta toner bottles are made of a material designed for recycling in local facilities, Konica Minolta cannot accept shipment of these empty bottles. Please check the rules of your municipality for specific information.

Konica Minolta branded consumables ONLY please! If you have printer/copiers from other manufacturers, we encourage you to take advantage of their recycling programs. We reserve the right to recover costs for unauthorized items returned using our program.

Konica Minolta Toner Technology

At Konica Minolta, we're constantly working to reduce bizhub's environmental footprint and improve its efficiency. Here are a few of the earth-friendly innovations we’ve developed to help bizhub stay green.

Simitri Polymerized Toner

Konica Minolta's Simitri Polymerized Toner achieves an approximately 40% reduction in CO2 emissions during production, as compared with toners produced by conventional pulverization methods.

IH Fixing Technology

Konica Minolta's Induction Heating (IH) fixing technology reduces power consumption during the fixing process and results in shorter warm-up time.

Optimal Power Control

The power in Konica Minolta devices is optimized for each operating mode, eliminating wasted power. For example, when the C650/C550 are printing from a PC or receiving a fax, the power supply is adjusted so that no electricity is sent to the scanner or other idle sections.

Duplex Printing

When it comes to forest resource conservation, paper use reduction in offices is important; double-sided printing is an effective means of achieving such reduction. The bizhub C650/C550/C451 realize high-speed printing when outputting double-sided color pages, thanks to a paper feed control system that feeds three sheets alternately. This system offers productivity equal to single-sided printing, and makes it easier to reduce paper use in offices.

Original Toner Recycling System

Konica Minolta's system collects, recycles, and re-uses toner that is not transferred to the paper during the printing process in MFPs. This results in saving 20% of the toner from going to waste without reducing image/print quality.

Outer Casing Plastics

The outer casing parts for every Konica Minolta MFP are made from the same two types of plastic, creating a closed material-recycling loop for recycling plastics from end-of-life MFPs and incorporating them into the production of newer models. With this process, we have enabled the recycling of high purity plastics, recycling approximately 100 tons of plastics annually.
